What type of laser is used?
A cold low-powered, non-invasive laser. All of the laser equipment is CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved.
How long has this type of laser been used?
Low-level laser has been used in Europe for medical conditions since 1965. Laser Centers For Health's parent company, Matrix Therapeutic Systems in Ontario, introduced this type of laser therapy to Canada in 1985.
What credentials does the staff have?
The government has implemented Standards of Practice that govern all health care professions in British Columbia. Laser Centers For Health is a professional health care organization that is regulated and monitored by the College of Registered Nurses in British Columbia, which assures clients of safe practice and therapeutic care.
The Registered Nurse at Laser Centers For Health has completed several levels of training as a Certified Laser Therapist and as a Certified Clinical Nurse Instructor in Laser Therapy. She is responsible for the staff at Laser Centers for Health who are a team of highly trained Certified Laser Technicians.
Which parts of the body are treated?
Treatment may be on the ears, hands, arms, feet, and face.
Does it hurt?
No. All you will feel is a slight tingling or pulsating sensation, and you will feel more relaxed during and after the treatment.
What are the side effects?
Laser therapy is completely safe, painless and drug free. Precautions exist about combining laser therapy with certain medical conditions and medications; therefore, each client is screened on the telephone and again in person. Otherwise there are no known side effects.
How long are the treatments?
Each full treatment takes 45-60 minutes, depending on individual needs.
How many treatments will I need?
For smoking cessation, all you need is a single one-hour laser treatment.
For weight loss, clients have a laser treatment every two weeks until they reach their goal.
For other programs, each client is assessed to determine the number of treatments required.

You can submit our services as a medical deduction on your income tax. Insurance companies and employee assistance plans may request a referral from your doctor.
