Helpful tips before beginning your treatment

  1. The most important step is to realize that you have a problem.

  2. Be sure you are ready to quit, and that you are making this decision.

  3. Ask someone you trust to be your support person while you are quitting. It must be someone who is reliable, who does not take drugs, and who wants you to quit.

  4. Make a list of all the negative ways the drugs are affecting your life.

  5. Make a list of all the ways your life will improve when you stop drugs.

  6. Think about when, where, and with whom you take drugs. Understand these triggers and stop spending time with other drug users.

  7. Ask the people who supply you with drugs to stop doing that, no matter how desperate you become.

  8. Continue to use the addictive substance(s) until the Registered Nurse at Laser Centers for Health guides you on when and how you can stop using safely and without withdrawal.

  9. Once you have received clear instructions (see Tip #8), you must get rid of ALL drugs you have in and around your home, vehicles and property.

  10. Clean your house very well, rearrange some furniture, and even treat yourself to a few new decorations to give you a fresh start.

  11. Once you have begun LCH Technique laser therapy treatment, keep yourself busy with projects, activities, and interests to create your new life. Introduce a healthy alternative whenever you feel the urge or think about the addictive substance. Good habits could be as simple as drinking a tall glass of cold water, jumping rope for five minutes, sitting outside with your eyes closed and breathing deeply, or going for a walk along the beach or through the forest.
