Stop Nail Biting with Laser Therapy Treatments
Are you tired of being embarrassed about your nails and fingers?
Do you bite your fingers to the point where they bleed?
Risks of nail biting
If you chronically bite your nails and cuticles, the area may be extremely painful when you wash your hands, use lotions, or get other liquids on the open wound. Also, bleeding may occur. If you keep the area constantly wet by putting fingers in your mouth, that can lead to yeast infection of the nail or oral herpes on the finger.
There are many health concerns with nail and skin biting such as:
- Ridging
- Nail deformity
- Nail loss
- Bacterial infections that can lead to severe dental problems such as gingivitis.
How does laser therapy work?
We use a low powered laser on major areas on the body your face, ears, and hands. The mild tingling sensation of the laser stimulates the release of a massive amount of endorphins. This is the same thing that happens when you bite your nails. The laser treatment physically replaces the need to bite your nails and fingers.
During the laser treatment you have a private consultation with a Certified Laser Technician, who explains what to do and not do. You learn how to stop biting so you do not need to do it again. Clients are encouraged to make positive lifestyle changes, which will reduce the need for the habit. Our clients are more relaxed, have an increased sense of well-being and sleep better after a treatment.
For children who are still sucking their thumbs or fingers, there is a concern that their teeth are moving out of alignment. Laser therapy is effective for this problem if the child is old enough to follow the simple directions.
What does laser therapy include?
Laser therapy includes a package of two one-hour laser treatments with private consultations by a Certified Laser Technician about two weeks apart, natural supplements to help calm your system, printed information, CD and on-going support.
